Music is such a powerful developmental tool for minds of any age, but especially for the littlest! It’s a fun way to learn patterns, explore sound and feeling, work on large motor movement, practice following directions, explore how we express ourselves, and develop creativity. But mostly, it’s fun! At Our Shepherd, we use music a lot. Besides classrooms singing songs as they walk to the playground and the occasional classroom dance party, Our Shepherd deliberately integrates music into the childcare and curriculum.
Song time with Mr. Rick & Ms. Kim
or Mr. Drew & Ms. Emily
Every Tuesday or Friday morning, the Our Shepherd students cheer when Mr. Rick and Ms. Kim or Mr. Drew and Ms. Emily show up with their guitar and are ready to sing! They spend time in each room teaching the children songs and dances. They learn music, movement, and have lots of fun!
Christmas Program
A couple weeks before Christmas, Our Shepherd puts on its very one Christmas Program in the praise center. Each child, even the youngest plays a role in the program. Enjoy Christmas songs, the Christmas story as told by our students, and the cutest little shepherds and angels!
